Job Summary
Job Summary:Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Assessing and coordinating the needs of non-English speaking and hearing impaired inpatients, and taking a proactive role in the efficient operation of the department.
· Accepting requests for interpretation from a variety of sources and prioritizing as appropriate
· Coordinating interpreter schedules and liaising between the care team and interpreters
· Maintains complete and accurate written and computerized records of services rendered and statistics of all patient and family encounters.
· Identifies and executes on opportunities to increase productivity and effectiveness of operations
· Maintains an environment that promotes collaborative work relationships and aids the Interpreter team as needed.
· Coordinates with contracted agencies and vendors to secure resources and schedule interpretation services to meet patient needs
· Oversees interpreter on wheel program, including inventory, maintenance, and staff education.
· Supports the manager in monitoring expenses, processing invoices, timekeeping, and payroll.
· Coordinates quality control and improvement efforts to ensure interpreter services are meeting the needs of our patient population.
· Support the manager in collecting information for annual reporting
· Leads new programs and maintains existing programs that enhance access for patients with language and communication needs.
· Work toward ensuring care teams are equipped with the education necessary to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) to improve the quality of services and achieve health equity.
· Scheduling and timekeeping
· Assist the manager with project coordination work
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree or Equivalent preferred, and a Related Field of Study preferred

· 2-4 years of progressive experience in a hospital setting.
· Fast pace and demanding environment.
· Frequent interruptions and a small office setting.
Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) or another language
· Skilled at project coordination
· Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple competing priorities.
· Outstanding problem-solving skills, with independent resolution of most problems and challenges encountered.
· Excellent customer service and service excellence skills.
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
· Ability to administer IT systems creatively and effectively (e.g., Epic, Kronos, reporting, etc.).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, work, excel, PowerPoint)
