Operations Controller

We’re hiring an Operations Controller for our Corporate HQ located in Columbia, MO. The Controller will manage the monthly close, ensure financial accuracy and reporting, support audits, ensure compliance, lead a team, and foster collaboration.

• Manage and oversee the accounting function for our telematics hardware supply and our manufacturing facility supporting our equipment rental operations.  
• Review and approve journal entries proposed by the team.
• Own the monthly close process.
• Ensure account balances are accurate and correlate with monthly financial statements. 
• Perform the month-end close procedures on time and with accuracy. 
• Prepare a monthly accounting reporting packet with descriptions of significant events that occurred during the month and detailed variance analysis.
• Prepare cash forecasts and various other reports and analyses.
• Communicate across various departments within the company to create and maintain efficient workflows and processes.
• Support the annual financial statement audit. You’ll work with various departments to gather information and execute on this important process.
• Document processes for auditing purposes, as well as identify controls to ensure documentation is current
• Research and ensure the accounting treatment for new transactions are appropriate.
• Build your team to support new processes, implement new workflows when needed, test new systems and train new team members.
• Serve as a mentor and supervise other team members.
• Use formulas, pivot tables and macros to manage and report data accordingly.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred. 
• Be collaborative and rely on teamwork to accomplish goals.
• Desire to work in the details to understand the numbers, ensure accuracy, and be capable of doing analyses to explain variances.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented.

• Degree in Accounting required. 
• Public accounting experience or a CPA is preferred.
• At least seven years of progressive accounting experience is required.

• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
