Your New Role

Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia develop and execute a national flying program on behalf of the Australian Border Force and provide 24/7 Search & Rescue support to the Australian Maritime Search Authority. Reporting to the Day of Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the coordination and support of daily flying operations and aircrew rosters. The role works 12.5-hour shifts as part of a rotating shift roster including both day and night shifts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all activities are conducted compliantly in line with standard operating procedures and meet all regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Monitor and maximise operational performance and revenue within the scope of the role
  • Proactively seek efficiency gains and continuously look for ways to improve the role
  • Liaise with client organisations on operational issues, and Base Managers on the execution of the flying program, maintenance of aircraft and management of aircrews
  • Coordinate the recovery of aircraft breakdowns and other operational limitations that affect the aircraft flying schedule.

Experience, Knowledge & Attributes that will help you be successful in this role include:

  • Technical and practical experience in aviation operations is required
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and calmly under pressure with a very high attention to detail
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously within a team environment
  • Proven ability to resolves complex tasks in a dynamic environment.

Successful applicants will need to be Australian Citizens, willing and able to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
