For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. As Global Programs continues to grow in scope and complexity, the Operations & Portfolio Management (OPM) team plays a critical role in supporting strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. We are seeking an Operations Associate to support Global Programs leaders through project coordination, operational support, and clear communication across a diverse global portfolio.
This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Director, Operations & Portfolio Management and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Responsibilities
Support assigned Global Programs Leadership Team members through scheduling, workflow management, and operational coordination;
Coordinate and manage assigned projects by creating timelines, tracking deliverables, facilitating meetings, and supporting cross-functional communication;
Organize and document meetings, including agendas, notes, action items, and follow-up;
Maintain SharePoint pages, divisional documentation, and project records;
Assist with preparation of presentations, newsletters, and other communications materials;
Support onboarding, training initiatives, retreats, and team-building events within the division;
Coordinate travel, meetings, and logistics for assigned senior leaders;
Provide administrative and basic technical support, including expense reports, timesheet approvals, and virtual meeting troubleshooting; and
Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Communications, Business, or a related field;
At least one year of experience providing administrative or project coordination support in a fast-paced professional environment;
Experience working in a hybrid work environment;
Experience working cross-culturally;
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
Ability to quickly learn new software applications and collaboration tools; and
Proficiency in Spanish and basic graphic design skills are a plus.
