Operations Associate

About Us:

UnitX builds the world's leading physical AI systems to automate repetitive visual tasks in factories. UnitX is a fast-moving startup with a team from Stanford, MIT, Google, and beyond. Since inception, UnitX has deployed 1,000+ mission-critical systems across 190+ of the world's leading manufacturers' production lines. Every year, $15B worth of products go through UnitX's AI inspection system to ensure quality.

As an Operations Associate at UnitX, you will own the day-to-day office, lab, and shipping operations that keep our team building without friction. You'll work closely with our Business Operations Specialist. You’ll partner closely with Hardware, Engineering, and Customer Success to help keep UnitX running.

What You'll Do:
  • Office & Facilities: Own day to day office operations, including but not limited to, office supply inventory, vendor coordination, mail handling, office organization, and 5S standards. You're the reason the space runs smoothly.

  • AV & IT Support: Own conference room AV setup, troubleshoot connectivity issues across multiple types of devices and equipment, set up new employee workstations, and escalate complex IT issues to the appropriate team or vendor.

  • Lab Support: Assist Hardware and Engineering teams with computer setup, equipment mounting, fixture building, occasional soldering, and basic electronic assembly. Maintain lab cleanliness and track inventory.

  • Shipping & Receiving: Manage outbound shipments end-to-end by packing, labeling, carrier coordination, and tracking. Receive and inspect incoming shipments, route to the correct teams, and maintain accurate shipping logs.

  • Quality Checks: Ensure all products shipped & received pass a quality check in accordance with company standards.

  • Ad-Hoc Support: Be the team's go-to — whether it's moving equipment, prepping for events, reorganizing spaces, or whatever else comes up, you handle it fast and without friction.

Who You Are:
  • Self-starter who sees what needs to be done and does it without being asked.

  • Comfortable being the most-pinged person in slack on any given day.

  • You work with urgency and take pride in getting things done ahead of schedule.

  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and context-switch quickly without dropping the ball.

  • Physically capable: comfortable lifting 50+ lbs regularly and on your feet for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Clear written and verbal communicator.

  • Comfortable with basic computer tasks (email, spreadsheets, inventory systems).

  • At least 1–2 years of work experience in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or office administration.

  • Experience with inventory management systems/ERPs (Cin7, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Familiarity with 5S, lean principles, or structured work environments.

  • Basic soldering, electronics, or hands-on assembly experience.

  • AV/IT troubleshooting experience (even informal).

  • Technical degree or coursework (Engineering, Engineering Tech, etc.).

Benefits:

  • $25-$30/hour & equity

  • Full Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k

  • Daily meals provided with your own choice
