Job Summary
Our client in the oil marketing sector is seeking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to support the Operations Manager in coordinating daily operational activities and implementing systems, processes, and controls across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, ensuring accountability, supporting logistics coordination, and maintaining accurate operational records. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong work ethic, problem-solving mindset, and a desire to grow within operations and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating daily operations across stations, depots, and operational sites.
- Track and monitor operational data, including deliveries, stock movements, incidents, and reports.
- Follow up with station managers, drivers, and other stakeholders on operational matters.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of operational procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare operational reports, summaries, and updates for management review.
- Assist with logistics planning, scheduling, and delivery coordination.
- Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and potential risks, and escalate findings to management.
- Maintain accurate operational records, documentation, and filing systems.
- Conduct site visits when required and provide feedback and recommendations to management.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to follow instructions while demonstrating initiative and independent thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
