Imagine working for a company that measures its success based off the growth of its colleagues, a company that invests in its future by investing in you. Blue Line Distribution is a company where our colleagues make an impact.

Blue Line Distribution, the in-house distributor for Little Caesars Pizza, has been family owned and operated for over 50 years; and is dedicated to leading customized and innovative food service logistics with safety as a top priority. We are now hiring for an Operations Analyst, Transportation.

Your Mission:

Responsible for providing analytical support for transportation operations, primarily through analysis of transportation metrics, route performance, carrier efficiency, and cost management. This role evaluates inbound and outbound transportation performance across all Distribution Centers (DCs), ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

This position works cross-functionally with transportation, warehouse, safety, and finance teams to provide actionable insights, improve operational efficiency, and drive performance improvements. Additionally, the role supports initiatives related to cost savings, network optimization, and service level performance.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on transportation systems and activities, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), routing and optimization tools, fleet performance, and third-party carrier data.

  • Establish, track, and analyze key transportation metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, route efficiency, freight spend, detention, claims, fuel usage). Identify trends, variances, and performance gaps, and develop actionable improvement plans.

  • Work with transportation leadership to design and implement scorecards, dashboards, and reporting tools to measure DC and carrier performance.

  • Partner with safety, compliance, and quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including Department of Transportation (DOT), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), OSHA, and CSA standards.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on transportation-related issues (e.g., accidents, service failures, delays, chargebacks, claims) and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support transportation leadership in managing third-party carrier performance, including cost analysis, service levels, and contract (RFP/RFQ) evaluations.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies, including fuel optimization, routing improvements, and asset utilization.

  • Support network and route design improvements to optimize delivery efficiency and service levels.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (warehouse operations, real estate, finance, IT) to ensure transportation capabilities align with DC capacity, customer demand, and business growth plans.

  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transportation processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional transportation and supply chain projects as assigned by leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, supply chain, business, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation, logistics, or distribution operations, preferably in food distribution or a multi-site environment.

  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT, FDA, OSHA, and CSA compliance requirements.

  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), routing/optimization tools, and transportation analytics.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make business-driven recommendations.

  • Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Proven ability to influence and provide work direction across teams without direct reporting relationships.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and data analysis tools.

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize multiple initiatives, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Where You’ll Work:

  • Ability to travel to Distribution Centers (DCs) as needed (typically up to 25–50%) in accordance with corporate travel policies.

  • Exposure to transportation and warehouse environments, including ride-alongs, yard operations, and varying temperature conditions.

  • Occasional travel via tractor-trailer ride-alongs to observe route execution and driver performance.

What We Do

ABOUT LITTLE CAESARS® Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, Little Caesars was founded by Mike and Marian Ilitch in 1959 as a single, family-owned restaurant. Today, Little Caesars is the third largest pizza chain in the world, with stores in each of the 50 U.S. states and 27 countries and territories. Little Caesars recently introduced contactless options for both delivery and carry-out through the Little Caesars app. Pizzas are baked in 475-degree ovens to ensure food safety and never touched after baking. The chain has also reinforced cleanliness and sanitization procedures, increasing the frequency of cleaning commonly touched surfaces including door handles, glass, countertops, Pizza Portal surfaces, phones, and cash registers. Known for its HOT-N-READY® pizza and famed Crazy Bread®, Little Caesars has been named “Best Value in America” for the past twelve years (based on nationwide survey of national quick service restaurant customers conducted by Sandelman & Associates - 2007-2019 entitled “Highest Rated Chain – Value for the Money”). Little Caesars products are made with quality ingredients, like fresh, never frozen, mozzarella and Muenster cheese and sauce made from fresh-packed, vine-ripened California crushed tomatoes. An exceptionally high growth company with 60 years of experience in the $145 billion worldwide pizza industry, Little Caesars is continually looking for franchisee candidates to join our team in markets around the world. In addition to providing the opportunity for entrepreneurial independence in a franchise system, Little Caesars offers strong brand awareness with one of the most recognized and appealing characters in the country, Little Caesar
