As an Operational Support Aide, you will be responsible for the conversion process in preparation for events in the facilities and assist with the general cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Housekeeping Tasks:

  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms; sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing as needed.
  • Perform deep cleaning/extraction and stain and gum removal on carpets in all areas during and after event hours or as required.
  • Maintain and monitor garbage/recycling receptacles in all areas of the facility.
  • Operate equipment, such as scrubbing machines, extractors, or other light power-driven equipment.

Event Operations:

  • Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and other equipment for the successful execution of events.
  • Provides debris removal and other general labor activities in surrounding areas to building.
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.
  • Assist clients and facility visitors as needed.
  • Ensure proper facility preparations for event requirements as requested

General Tasks:

  • Attend and participate in planning, training, and staff meetings.
  • Participates in safety programs to achieve safety goals.
  • Assists with various department and organization projects and special assignments as needed.
  • Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag.  Personal appearance and grooming must conform to IDCC dress code.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions.
  • Performs other assigned duties as requested.

Education and/or Experience          

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent .
  • Previous experience working in an event set-up or related field preferred.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast- paced environment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Professional appearance and attitude are essential.
  • Have a working knowledge of hand tools.

Skills and Abilities  

  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to successfully complete ladder safety training.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • No certifications are required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

  • Ability to work through the facility and at various events including sitting, standing walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, kneeling and/or crouching, pulling, and pushing.
  • Ability to safely operate various mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Ability to use various cleaning chemicals safely.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and in warm temperatures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to carry 30lbs disinfecting equipment backpack for extended periods of time during shift

Position is for 20 work hours per week. Flexibility within this is available based on event schedule at facility.  If facility has an event, early morning hours for setup will be expected availability.

Wage Range: $18.50/hour
