Risk Management (RM) is responsible for developing and communicating CBA’s risk management frameworks to allow CBA to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within the approved risk appetite.
RM has policy teams that specialise in the different risk types as well as business unit risk teams to provide oversight. These areas collaborate with each other and specific areas within CBA to implement the Risk Management frameworks.
Do work that matters
Reporting into the Executive Manager - Line 2 Operational Risk for Retail Bank Services, you will support the Consumer Lending portfolio by providing independent risk oversight, advice and challenge.
The role spans three key areas: oversight of business and technology change, assurance activity, and core Line 2 operational risk responsibilities. You will work closely with the Business, Line 1 Risk and other Risk functions across the Bank.
Key responsibilities for this role includes:
Provide Line 2 oversight and challenge across business and technology change initiatives, with an increasing focus on AI, automation and digital transformation.
Lead and contribute to assurance reviews, deep dives and risk assessments across Consumer Lending and operational risk themes.
Support core Line 2 activities including issue management, RCSA oversight, risk insights and regulatory engagement.
Identify emerging risks and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice to support effective risk management.
Work collaboratively across Risk functions to deliver coordinated oversight and positive customer outcomes.

Experience in financial services, ideally across lending, operational risk, product, business change or technology transformation.
Demonstrated expertise and/or strong understanding of operational risk frameworks and the management of non-financial risks across complex business environments.
Naturally curious, with a strong interest in how technology, AI and automation are changing the business and its risk profile.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge.
Pragmatic and commercially minded, with a focus on both identifying risks and helping drive solutions.
Collaborative and comfortable working across strategic change, assurance and day-to-day risk activities.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
