As a senior member of the Risk function you will be a key part of supporting Convera in its strategic objectives serving over 30,000 clients globally. Risks are embedded within all aspects of the business ensuring adherence to the stated risk appetite whilst pro-actively implementing continuous improvements in risk identification, capture, methodologies and data to help drive the business forward.
You will be responsible for:
- Enhancing and implementing the Operational Risk Management Framework across Convera’s global businesses and overseeing underlying policies, procedures and methodologies.
- Conducting comprehensive Risk & Control Assessments (RCA’s) as well as driving the education on, and embedding of, RCSA’s across various business units.
- Analyzing operational risk indicators and initiate sustainable remediation.
- Identifying potential weaknesses in processes and controls and recommending improvements.
- Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies in alignment with industry best practices.
- Reporting to senior leadership and board of directors.
- Interacting with the local regulator (MFSA) on risk matters.
- Collaborating with business units to implement and manage risk controls.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards with respect to Operational Risk, Outsourcing Risk and ICT Risk
- Developing and delivering, where appropriate, risk training programs and awareness initiatives.
- Acting as subject matter expert for the Risk function within cross functional forums and in support of risk audits or regulatory assessments.
- Collaborating on Operational Resilience, Outsourcing and ICT risk management matters.
In this role you will help shape the future of the global Risk function as Convera grows and evolves. The Risk team plays a fundamental part in protecting the firm and our customers whilst ensuring the risk service is efficient as possible.
You should apply if you have:
- An in-depth and demonstrable understanding of Operational Risk methodologies, frameworks, metrics and processes.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance trade-offs based on data analysis.
- Experience of investigating incidents, control failures and documenting root cause analysis with an ability to convert into actionable items.
- Previously been responsible for Operational Risk Framework design, enhancement and implementation.
- A broad grounding of risk disciplines; market, credit, fraud, operational, third party and regulatory risk management with an ability to think laterally with regard to the interaction of the risk disciplines and work across the global risk team.
- Demonstrable ability to be a team player, communicate effectively and work collaboratively across a diverse global risk team whilst helping to reinforce a strong risk culture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable in communicating risk issues with the regulators and to a broad range of internal stakeholders from senior management to junior analysts.
- Will be considered as advantages: risk qualification / certification, knowledge of specific regulations (e.g. Malta) or control framework (e.g. fraud), previous PQ registration with MFSA.
