What we are looking for:
We are looking for an Operational Risk Analyst to join the Optiver Operational Risk Management team.
In this role, you will help us monitor risk, scale, and improve our control frameworks and processes to ensure that we keep learning. You will also get to analyze incident data up-close and identify trends, and work with a large variety of stakeholders on setting up robust risk and control processes and maintain the company-wide control framework.
The role is based on the trading floor in a dynamic environment. You will also have a broad outreach to the entire organization, closely interacting with all Trading, Tech, Data Analysis, and Risk & Control teams. You will also often communicate with, report to, and advise senior management on Operational Risk. You will stay abreast of all new business activity and developments.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate, review, and challenge reporting on second line inputs and outputs associated with the Control Framework which spans across the entire Optiver U.S. and Europe organization.
- Focus on the US business but also liaise with other regions.
Activities include:
- Controls and assurance: which involve assessment of the important controls and assurance processes around these controls.
- Day-to-day incident management and data analysis for operational risk identification & mitigation.
- Comprehensive risk assessment to identify and evaluate potential risks.
- Conduct periodic management reporting.
- Build dashboards, tooling, improving data analytics capabilities for the team.
- Communicate, train and advise the business on operational risk.
What you’ll need:
- 2+ years of experience in a second line operational risk role or related field
- Experience in a similar area or sector and basic knowledge of financial exchanges and financial instruments
- Analytical thinking skills and a good eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Drive to continuously improve and a high personal bar for performance expectations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field, Finance or Economics.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
