Join PPG Aerospace! As the Operational Excellence Lean Manager, you will manage a portfolio of continuous improvement plans. Work cross-functionally with all levels in all departments to define, develop and implement Lean Six Sigma projects and activities which enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost of operational outputs. This position is located fully onsite at our Huntsville, AL facility. You will report to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to drive process improvements.
Manage small team of Lean / Six Sigma Engineers
Implement and enhance the AeroLean Production System standards, including 5S, Leader and Operator Standard Work,, VSMs, Poka Yoke, Visual Management, Kanban, and Pull systems.
Track and report on all continuous improvement workshops and cost savings initiatives within the site.
Lead site cost / productivity improvement initiatives
Serve as a change agent with the ability to coach, train, and work at all organizational levels.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a STEM or relevant field.
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations, process engineering, or quality management.
Lean Six Sigma
Demonstrated experience in leading step change, breakthrough projects (using DMAIC, Lean, or equivalent methods) for business improvements in a production environment.
Knowledge and application of Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving techniques.
