Operation Program Management InternJob Description:
The Operations Program Management Intern proactively supports, consults with, or coordinates multiple efforts and teams. This person will have direct interaction with the plant production floor, and they will be assigned standardized goals & objectives that will propel the Operations team forward through innovative problem solving. In addition, the intern will be involved in the coordination of critical, multi-sectional projects involving customers, vendors, and consultants. This person keeps management informed of project accomplishments and major problem areas as well as critical constraints and schedule status.
This internship requires part time hours throughout the academic year (12-20 hours), and the students will have a more immersive full-time experience over their summer terms.
- Supports the preparation of Master Project Plans (timing schedules) based on in-flight programs.
- Involved in the coordination of critical, multi-sectional projects involving customers, vendors, and consultants.
- Supports Program Reviews and ensures accurate, and timely follow up for assignments that impact the program launch.
- Follows up on Master Project Plans (timing schedule) tasks that are due or past due.
- Processes and tracks recovery plans
- Tracks action items from Program Launch team meetings.
- Leads problem solving efforts to reduce cost and improve efficiency within Operations.
- Supports group with scheduling meetings, preparing biweekly Operations Program Management Updates, and preparing launch reports.
- Assists in the preparation, validation and tracking of IPA project deliverables.
- Ability to commit to 12-20 hours throughout the academic year
- Standard Goals & Objectives will be defined for (3) performance periods (Spring, Summer, Fall Semesters)
- Standard work will be defined with SMART metrics to ensure alignment on expectations
Required:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business preferred
- No previous experience required.
Preferred:
- 1+ previous internships supporting/working in a manufacturing environment.
