What this job involves: JLL is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer to maintain the operational excellence of our facilities. This hands-on position requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure our warehouses, distribution centers, and office buildings function seamlessly for tenants and visitors.

 

What your day-to-day will look like:  

  • Identify and resolve general maintenance issues across building systems
  • Maintain lighting systems including replacement of bulbs and ballasts
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team on building equipment repair and upkeep
  • Perform interior maintenance including picture hanging, keyboard tray installation, and office furniture repair
  • Execute minor plumbing repairs and troubleshooting
  • Complete specialized tasks including painting, locksmith work, and tenant service requests
  • Relocate office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence reporting on conditions affecting client operations
  • Respond to emergencies 24/7 with appropriate urgency and expertise
  • Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping practices while identifying and addressing potential hazards
  • Responsible for one maintenance technician

 

Work Schedule 

  • Monday - Friday; 7 AM to 3:30 PM
  • May require occasional overtime or off-hours work

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills: 

  • Prior experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and controls
  • Familiarity with building automation systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs
  • Certifications in relevant technical fields

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience in general building maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical systems
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to learn Corrigo CMMS software
  • Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders up to 28 ft
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Creative problem-solving abilities to address diverse building maintenance challenges
