Job Summary:**
The OPERADOR SCRAP is responsible for the efficient and safe handling, sorting, and processing of scrap materials within the Fabricas Monterrey, S.A. de C.V. facilities, ensuring compliance with company standards and environmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment used for scrap processing, such as balers, shredders, forklifts, and cranes, following all safety protocols.
* Sort and separate different types of scrap materials (e.g., metals, plastics, paper) according to established guidelines and quality standards.
* Load and unload scrap materials from trucks, containers, and storage areas using appropriate equipment.
* Inspect incoming and outgoing scrap materials for quality, quantity, and proper categorization.
* Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
* Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or repair needs to the supervisor.
* Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Maintain accurate records of scrap material quantities, types, and processing activities.
* Collaborate with other team members to optimize scrap handling processes and efficiency.
* Identify and report any potential environmental or safety risks associated with scrap materials.
Job Qualifications:**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Proven experience in operating industrial machinery, particularly forklifts and balers, preferably in a manufacturing or recycling environment.
* Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain one).
* Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a demanding industrial setting.
* Strong understanding of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them strictly.
* Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and minor troubleshooting.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate effectively.
* Attention to detail for accurate sorting and record-keeping.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
