The OpenText Exstream Architect is responsible for architecting and supporting the OpenText Exstream customer communication management platform in a public cloud environment (Azure/AWS). This role focuses on designing cloud-ready Exstream solutions that leverage containerized deployments and orchestration, in contrast to traditional on-premise server installations.

The goal is to provide a scalable, efficient Exstream solution in the cloud that supports both high-volume batch document generation and interactive customer communications as needed.

You will be responsible for:

• Solution Design: Architect and design the OpenText Exstream platform deployment in the cloud (Azure or AWS), leveraging cloud-native features such as containerization and orchestration for scalability and resilience.

• Cloud Deployment Collaboration: Work closely with cloud infrastructure architects to plan and deploy the Exstream solution. Focus on Exstream application architecture and configuration while the cloud team manages underlying infrastructure. 

• Systems Integration: Collaborate with SAP and other application architects to integrate Exstream with upstream systems (such as ERP or CRM systems) and downstream systems (such as content repositories, archival systems, or distribution channels). Design integration workflows so that Exstream can consume data from enterprise systems and deliver output to the appropriate channels or repositories.

• Best Practices & Governance: Provide guidance on best practices for Exstream deployment and configuration in a cloud environment. Define standards for application packaging, environment setup, and parameter configuration to optimize performance. Develop a scaling strategy to handle growth and peak loads, ensuring high availability and fast throughput for critical communications.

• Batch and Interactive Support: Design the Exstream solution to support required communication modes. For batch communications, ensure the architecture can handle high-volume document batch processing (e.g. billing statements, policy documents) efficiently. For interactive or on-demand communications, ensure the platform is configured for real-time generation of personalized documents through interactive templates or APIs.

• Technical Leadership: Act as the Exstream subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle. Provide architectural oversight during implementation, assist development and support teams with Exstream-specific issues, and adjust the design as needed to align with project scope and cloud environment constraints. Ensure all solutions adhere to OpenText and industry best practices for cloud-based CCM systems.

We expect you to have:

• OpenText Exstream Expertise: Extensive experience in designing, configuring, and implementing OpenText Exstream solutions. Deep understanding of Exstream architecture, including both legacy on-premise deployments and the newer cloud-native (containerized) Exstream platform.

• Cloud Deployment Experience: Hands-on experience deploying or supporting applications on public cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure / AWS. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift) as used in cloud-based Exstream deployments. Ability to design scalable solutions that leverage cloud services for load balancing, monitoring, and auto-scaling (in coordination with cloud engineers).

• Systems Integration Skills: Proven ability to integrate Exstream with other enterprise systems like SAP or other ERP systems, CRM platforms, and content management or archiving systems to feed data into Exstream and consume Exstream outputs. Understanding of web services, APIs, and middleware for connecting Exstream with upstream data sources and downstream delivery channels.

• Batch & Interactive Communication Knowledge: Strong understanding of high-volume batch document generation processes and interactive document composition. Experience tuning Exstream for performance in batch jobs and setting up interactive communications modules or APIs. Awareness of how to optimize templates and workflows for both modes of operation.

• Architectural & Analytical Skills: Excellent architectural design abilities with a focus on cloud solutions. Capable of assessing requirements and translating them into a robust Exstream solution design. Skilled in performance optimization, troubleshooting architecture issues, and ensuring security and compliance within the Exstream platform design.

• Collaboration & Leadership: Strong collaboration skills to work alongside cloud architects, developers, business analysts, and project managers. Effective communication skills to articulate Exstream design decisions and impacts. Ability to lead and mentor technical teams in implementing the Exstream architecture, and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure the platform integrates smoothly into the overall enterprise ecosystem.
