To excel in this position, you should have a solid background in delivering diverse software solutions, encompassing engineering enhancements, process re-engineering, and automation of manual processes. Proven experience as a Progress Developer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Progress 4GL/OpenEdge.Your expertise should cover the following areas:
- Operating Systems and Databases:
- Proficient in data modeling and ETL development.
- Strong command of Progress database (4GL), ProMon and Linux Command Line Tools.
- Familiarity with OpenEdge WebSpeed and 4GL language concepts.
- Work on database design and optimization for Progress DB.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS):
- Demonstrated proficiency in various AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
- A plus if you hold AWS certification(s).
- Programming:
- Ability to write well-structured, maintainable, and efficient Python and 4GL/Webspeed code to empower different software components.
- Ability to create GUI and CHUI based programs. Familiar with batch programs.
- Mastery in implementing and ingesting REST APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, etc.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software Engineers and Operations teams, to ensure seamless integration of email sending capabilities into our platform.
- Problem-solving Skills:
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address intricate technical challenges.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing.
- Communication and Teamwork:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A track record of working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptability:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and rapidly adapt to changing technology and business requirements.
