Key Responsibilities

- Support the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with senior leaders and decision makers at targeted institutions and federal agencies as well as major trade associations, non-profits and think tanks, by coordinating communications and engagement activities around the value proposition and strategic benefits of Open Science and Frontiers.

- Assist in post-contractual partnership development, in close collaboration with the Institutional Partnerships team and Director of Open Science, North America, ensuring success and expansion of collaborative opportunities.

- Coordinate and help execute partner engagement programs such as library-focused events, funder roundtables, conference panels, webinars and informational sessions to reinforce Frontiers’ thought leadership and reputation, and

foster deeper, mutually beneficial relationships.

- Collect and organize market feedback from institutional partners regarding needs and trends; summarize and share with relevant stakeholders to inform offering and strategic initiatives

- Prepare presentations, reports, position statements, RFI responses, and other materials in support of business priorities.

- Monitor and actively engage with science policy and regulatory developments, providing timely analysis of key changes and their implications for Open Science and academic publishing.

- Collaborate closely with the Director of Open Science, North America and the External Affairs Team, to deliver strategic guidance to internal teams advancing Frontiers’ policy goals and adapting approaches to an evolving research

landscape.

- Partnering with the PR team and the Director of Open Science, North America, support the development and execution of the US PR/media engagement strategy, elevating Frontiers’ brand and thought leadership profile among target

audiences.

Requirements / Knowledge

- Knowledge of US research landscape and ecosystem, specifically research funding, dissemination, and science policy developments and implementation.

- Experience in academic or library relations, and/or with research-focused federal agencies.

- Experience in and knowledge of science policy and the workings of federal agencies is a plus.

- Experience with partnership development and stakeholder management

- Strong network among US research stakeholders including federal agencies, libraries, universities, funders, research institutions, and others.

- Strong writing and argumentation skills. Strong verbal and presentation skills.

- Proactive, dynamic, and solution-oriented approach.

- Willingness to travel regularly within the US

- Ability to work autonomously yet collaboratively, esp. across teams.

- Ability to get work done through influence

- Good public speaker and presenter

Experience & Education

- Min. 7-10 years of experience in academic publishing, academic relations, or library science

- Experience in and knowledge of federal agencies preferred

- Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred
