Department OverviewThe US Federal Governments Markets Division (USFGMD) is chartered with being the premier, compliant supplier of world-class communications solutions to the U.S. Federal Government by providing the highest quality products, systems and services. The USFGMD will achieve this with a professional, well-trained, diverse work force creating a positive and profitable customer relationship resulting in Total Customer Satisfaction and growth of our business.
The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Onsite Technical System Manager, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job Description

  • Troubleshooting and repair equipment in a timely manner.
  • Customer training on Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products. This equipment

    is state of the art Astro 25 Trunking.

  • Verbalize and communicate concepts and recommendations to the customers and within the Motorola Solutions organization.
  • Have a detailed understanding of Motorola systems to assist in the design, troubleshooting and maintenance of Motorola’s product lines.
  • Experience working with Motorola Infrastructure Technologies to include: Astro25 cores, MCC Console line, and third-party networking equipment.
  • Provide experience with Customer Programming Software.
  • Experience with programming Motorola Solutions' subscriber products.
  • Strong networking skills (LAN and WAN) skills required
  • Experience with logging recording systems and RF interfaces
  • Experience with spectrum analyzers and RF troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • The applicant will need to be self-motivated and be able to perform with indirect supervision.

Location/Travel:

  • The Onsite System Technologist position is located onsite within the United States Capitol Region in Washington, DC. This position will be dedicated to the US Capitol Police.
  • Candidates must be based within 1 hour from the Washington, D.C Capitol Region.
  • MUST be willing to travel by air up 10% of the time.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s)
  • Must have/keep a clean driving record.
  • 3+ years experience as an Electronics/Field Technician
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain the necessary security clearance level that is required by the U.S. Federal Government Contracting Office 

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, or Military experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
