Position SummaryMIDDLETOWN, PA, THIS POSITION IS ONSITE
The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer’s position is responsible for developing and executing manual testing use cases of Terminal based applications and reporting systems on new and existing products to ensure that
they meet the requisite functional, technical, and regulatory compliance and maintain high overall product quality.
Interface with Lottery/ Development and other Product Development staff to resolve issues in a timely manner. This position works in tandem with the Supervisor, System Integration to oversee the on-site support of on-line software, file systems and database application deploys within the Online Production System.
This position will lead the efforts to create, modify and implement test plans, scripts, summary reports and status reports. This position directs the workload of the Quality Care Specialist within the Systems Department to ensure even flow and accountability of work performed within the department. This position reviews proposed requirement changes, additions as relates to the AEGIS-EF system. A Quality Care Specialist understands and follows standards and best practices for SQA and CMMI.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead and provide direction to the Quality Care Specialist as it relates to the testing environment.
- Ability to fill in for roles of the Systems team for system support/testing/processing.
- Ability to interface with the Operations department to keep test and production systems in sync and at top performance at all times.
- Coordinates application software releases, test plans and overall project strategy with the department, management and internal/external customers.
- Ability to work cohesively with the customer during testing to communicate, update, and troubleshoot while in the environment to ensure testing is completed in accordance with the approved specifications.
- Ability to create and maintain reports within the Systems department.
- Ability to interface with all levels of management and customer.
- Sets up system test environments using production data restores.
- Track defects through bug tracking software, maintains defect listing and coordinates plans for action with development team.
- Maintains and updates test cases for each release toc over all enhancements based on requirements, documentation, and defects.
- Performs regression testing of new releases for all central system components of AEGIS-EF terminal applications.
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of SOD, EOD and drawing activities.
- Create and maintain balancing procedures.
- Maintain failover procedures.
- Deploys software releases to central systems and terminal applications.
- Provides support to Lottery and SGI employees for Instant and Online ticket. gaming functions.
- Creates and maintain test scripts.
- Navigates Atlassian system for JIRA status and changes.
- Monitors JIRA during testing process.
- Identifies and improves software testing process.
- Follows testing procedures of Systems Department.
- Communicates status updates to Systems Department.
- Collaborates with systems and operations departments for testing and operation support.
- Must be able to work overnights and weekends as needed.
- May be called to travel for business purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Task for this role:

Education and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 4 years relative experience.
- Create, modify, and execute robust automation test scripts / test plans for software validation.
- Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
- Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, and reporting software.
- Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with statistical reporting and analysis.
- Good time management skills.
- Excellent written / oral communication skills.
- Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Curious mindset and strong problem-solving skills that results in a natural quality tester, identifying bugs, and solving errors.
