AHEAD is searching for an Onboarding Engineer to be a part of our Managed Services team. Candidates are eager to learn, customer focused, an effective communicator, self-initiating and can perform most tasks without direct oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead onboarding engagements with new customers to integrate their IT infrastructure into AHEAD’s Observability platform.
- Perform infrastructure discovery and configure monitoring for technologies including Network, Server, Storage, Backup, Data Protection, Hyper-converged, and Virtualization.
- Configure and tune monitoring tools to proactively monitor customer environments.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and escalation point for complex onboarding and monitoring issues.
- Collaborate with service owners and delivery teams to ensure seamless onboarding and platform integration.
- Automate onboarding tasks and processes using scripting languages and APIs when appropriate.
Qualifications/ Technology Experience:
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Experience in Managed Services or Consulting environments.
- Experience with Elastic Observability platform is preferred (experience with monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus can suffice)
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux systems.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, ICMP, and syslog protocols.
- Familiarity with routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall rules.
- Proficiency with VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or other hypervisors.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Understanding of SAN/NAS technologies, backup platforms and data protection tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with ingesting logs, metrics, and traces into Elastic is a plus.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
