Data Migration Specialist Role Overview:

You will work with customers via phone, text, and email to help with migrating our customer’s platform data from their current retail software over to our cloud-based solution. The data will primarily be in .CSV format and will include data sets such as:

  • Product Data
  • Customer Data
  • Rental Data
  • Sales History Data

As a Data Migration Specialist at Rain, you must maintain customers' trust as a skilled Data Migration Specialist. You will use critical thinking and people skills to assure Rain customers of swift data conversion. Joining the Rain team is where you’ll receive your training, get exposure to our software and practice your data conversion skills.
You will have the responsibility of working with customers who are in the Data Migration phase of their overall Onboarding journey to assist with getting their exports out of their current retail software and manipulating that data to fit a format that will upload to our solution. 

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of data conversion experience, ideally in retail platform environments
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Handling large data sets
  • Ability to deal with text and number field mapping and analysis
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and interpret data
  • Ability to use existing migration tools and provide insights into improvements or streamlining of tools and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and across functional lines
  • Project management skills
  • Highly motivated with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • The Migration Sepcialist is expected to meet and work with individuals across the organization in a variety of functions
