Summary Generated by Built In

Avista Senior Living is a growing, values-driven senior living organization with communities across the western United States. Our mission is simple: to inspire and empower dedicated people to create vibrant communities. At Avista, kindness isn't just a value on a wall — it's the way we work, the way we lead, and the way we show up for our residents and each other every single day.

We are building something special here — a best-in-class onboarding program that ensures every new team member, in every role, across every community, has a great start to their Avista experience. And we are looking for exactly the right person to bring it to life.

This is a newly created role — which means you will have real ownership and real impact from Day 1. As our Onboarding Coordinator, you will be the person who makes sure every new Avista team member feels welcomed, prepared, and supported from the moment they accept their offer through their first 90 days on the job.

You will work directly with Executive Directors, community supervisors, and our Director of Recruitment & Employee Services to coordinate onboarding across multiple communities and states. You will be the connective tissue between HR, community operations, and new employees — making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

If you love building systems, love working with people, and want to be part of a team that genuinely cares about getting this right — this role is for you.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Pay with bonus structure
  • Health, dental, and life insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • PTO & sick leave
  • Fabulous co-workers who respect and honor one another
  • Professional development opportunities

What you will do:

  • Own the end-to-end coordination of new employee onboarding across all Avista communities and positions — from offer acceptance through the first 90 days.
  • Prepare and distribute onboarding folders for every new hire, ensuring all documents — job description, welcome letter, checklists, and credentialing requirements — are current, complete, and community-specific.
  • Coordinate with Executive Directors and supervisors to confirm each new hire is Day 1-ready — system access, mentor/buddy, credentials, and orientation scheduled.
  • Track completion of onboarding checklists, Relias training modules, and required credentials (TB clearance, fingerprint clearance, food handler's card, CPR/First Aid, and state-specific certifications) across all active new hires.
  • Initiate and monitor IT account setup for every new hire across all required platforms — Microsoft 365, Paycom, Relias, PCC/PointClickCare, Sage, Safely You, Veras, and Care Predict — and confirm all access is live before Day 1.
  • Manage account updates for employees transferring between communities so there are no gaps in system access during the move.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding records and provide reporting on completion rates, time-to-onboard, and compliance status.
  • Build strong relationships with community leaders and serve as a trusted, go-to resource for onboarding questions from new hires and their managers.
  • Continuously improve onboarding documents, processes, and tools as Avista grows and regulations change across our five states — AZ, NM, WA, ID, and UT.
  • Support the launch and expansion of Avista's onboarding pilot program in Q1 2027 and beyond.
