Position Summary
Platform.sh is seeking an Onboarding & Migration Specialist to join our Technical Services team. This role is pivotal in helping large customers successfully implement and adopt our products and services. The mission is to ensure a seamless technical onboarding process that sets clients up for long-term success.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Onboarding & Migration, this role involves working closely with client technical teams, delivering expert guidance, and ensuring a smooth path to go-live.
What to expect
- Lead technical onboarding and training: Deliver in-depth technical onboarding sessions and training for client technical teams, ensuring they are equipped to use our products and services effectively. This may include onsite sessions as needed.
- Plan and execute migrations: Conduct technical assessments and develop detailed plans for migrating client projects to Platform.sh.
- Provision and configure environments: Set up and configure client environments to ensure readiness for adoption.
- Provide advisory support: Offer technical assistance and strategic advice to clients from contract signature through successful go-live.
- Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with product and engineering teams to advocate for client needs, suggest product improvements, and prioritize high-demand feature requests.
- Travel and schedule: Travel within your timezone may be required on rare occasions, but this role does not include on-call duties.
What you bring
- Empathy and care: A customer-centric mindset and the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
- Technical expertise: Extensive experience with web applications, ideally with PHP, Node.js, and Python.
- Cloud knowledge: Familiarity with IaaS solutions like AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Strong communication skills: Ability to demo products, explain value propositions, and handle technical, process, and business-related questions with ease.
- Language proficiency: Exceptional written and spoken English skills.
- Technical stack understanding: Deep familiarity with modern hosting stacks, including CDNs, DNS, SSL certificates, and encryption.
- Version control experience: Proficiency in Git.
Bonus points for
- Knowledge of Magento, Symfony, Drupal, Ibexa, or Shopware.
- Relational database skills.
- Experience with public speaking or technical blogging/writing.
