About the RoleAs a Compliance Specialist with a focus on Data Protection, you will play a key role in ensuring Wallester’s operations comply with legal and regulatory standards, particularly GDPR and emerging AI regulations. You will be part of the Compliance Department, functioning as a second line of defense within our risk management framework.
ResponsibilitiesConduct compliance activities related to Data Protection, including monitoring, oversight, guidance, and training.
Develop, review, and update internal policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure organization-wide compliance.
Investigate potential violations of compliance policies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Improve internal compliance processes and risk management frameworks continuously.
Perform risk assessments on existing clients, partners, and new business projects.
Communicate and coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and partners; provide necessary documentation and clarifications.
Monitor evolving regulations and advise relevant stakeholders on necessary adaptations.
Build strong collaborative relationships across departments and business units.
Support other compliance-related initiatives as needed.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
Proven experience in Data Protection compliance (experience in financial institutions is advantageous).
Strong understanding of GDPR, AI regulation, and relevant compliance frameworks.
Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
Outstanding English communication skills; working proficiency in Estonian is required (Russian is a plus).
High level of responsibility, initiative, and problem-solving ability.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
