OPS Specialists

Our Operations practice helps clients shape the future of their operations so they can achieve their strategic goals and deliver sustainable, industry-leading business performance.

Our work covers the value chain from strategy development through implementation and transformation, across areas including Supply Chain, Value Sourcing, Manufacturing/MRO, Service Operations, and Innovation & Product Development.

What you will do

Internships at Oliver Wyman provide a true taste of project work and give you the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working alongside our teams and clients. Working on operational challenges, you will develop knowledge and expertise across the Operations practice. As a member of your project team, you’ll work alongside colleagues at different levels and clients to solve complex problems and drive meaningful change.

• Work with our clients in operations and understand operational performance on the ground.
• Gather key data inputs and carry out accurate, traceable quantitative and qualitative analyses, checking your findings to ensure they are robust.
• Develop hypotheses, support data collection, create models, and conduct analyses to turn information into clear insights.
• Find creative ways to work through information limitations and use your findings to support the delivery of client projects.
• Create clear, client-ready materials and contribute confidently and appropriately to internal and client discussions on topics related to your work.
• Structure and manage your own work and outputs, taking responsibility for your contribution and helping the wider project team move forward.
• Build your core business and consulting skills while developing deeper knowledge and expertise in Operations.

Who can apply?

• Applicants currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree are eligible to apply, ideally in engineering or natural sciences.
• You have a strong interest in Operations and ideally bring initial experience in one or more relevant areas, such as engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• You are highly motivated to learn quickly, contribute to project work, and discover how Oliver Wyman approaches complex operational challenges.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office; experience using data-mining and data-visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx is an advantage.
• We look for people who display initiative, intuition, and creativity, along with a strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. We do not require specific academic majors or industry experience. We look for diversity of experience and skills. We value extracurricular activities and evidence of leading an interesting and impactful life outside of your studies.
• Language skills: business fluency in German and English.
