Our Private Capital practice has grown rapidly, supporting on 50+ transactions and value creation engagements over the last five years in Financial Services, Transport, Energy, Telecommunications, Digital Technology and numerous other sectors.  Oliver Wyman has a strong reputation amongst clients, specifically having received positive feedback on providing unparalleled global and local insights across target sectors and throughout the deal lifecycle.

What you will do:

Become part of our team and play a proactive role in shaping the strategies necessary for our Private Capital clients to overcome their challenges and revolutionise their departments and organisations.

As a member of the practice, you will:

  • Lead client engagements, including:
    • Conduct thorough qualitative and quantitative research, as well as in-depth analysis of business models, strategic processes, and their impact on operations.
    • Perform operational, commercial, and financial analyses as part of multi-disciplinary, integrated due diligence teams to understand the target company's performance and uncover improvement opportunities to develop a value creation case.
    • Execute developed value creation cases post-deal in alignment with Private Equity Investors and Management Teams of their portfolio companies - ranging from transforming business models and optimising production footprints, supply chains, and corporate functions, to bettering cash positions and working capital.
    • Interact with senior client stakeholders to offer advice, shape and drive the strategy, and plan for acquisition opportunities.
    • Aid client meetings by preparing materials, conducting interviews, and facilitating workshops.
    • Support the growth of the practice, including:
      • Business development by contributing to proposal development and development of investment theses.
      • Dedicate yourself to the development of our team participating in firm events, training sessions, and recruitment activities.
      • Coach and help team members grow both professionally and personally.

What you need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant M&A or transactions experience or operations/supply chain strategy experience in a large international company or within strategic consulting or professional services.
  • Private Capital industry knowledge.
  • Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills; confidence in presenting to senior executives.
  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic programme.
  • Willingness to travel, when required.
