The Oliver Wyman Actuarial Services office in Amsterdam opened in 2021. Operating as one team with other European actuarial offices and in close cooperation with the management consulting colleagues, our consultants work for all major life and non-life (re)insurers in our core markets The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria.

Our team has extensive experience in supporting clients with, amongst others, different aspects of risk and valuation modelling, capital and risk management advisory, IFRS 17 implementation, sustainability, pricing and underwriting, and M&A activities.

We offer a permanent employment for senior actuaries with significant experience in the Dutch market and strong interpersonal skills.

As Actuarial Manager/Senior Manager you will work on:

  • Building up our Actuarial Services offering in The Netherlands, with a prominent and leading role in the team;
  • Leading the team, helping and educating your highly talented colleagues;
  • A diversity of complex projects related to strategical, quantitative, risk management, data science and actuarial questions and challenges of our clients in (primarily) the insurance and pensions industries, building on your knowledge, experience and capabilities;
  • A multitude of clients in The Netherlands and abroad, further building up your (international) network at a pace that is hardly found anywhere else.

Your profile

  • 6+ years of actuarial experience with significant experience in the Dutch market, consulting experience is a plus
  • Language skills: English (native/fluent) and Dutch (native/fluent) is a strong asset

  • A hands-on mentality, focused around maximizing the added value to the clients
  • Strong experience of working on risk and actuarial projects within Dutch market
  • Understanding of the Insurance business and broader key regulatory topics such as IFRS17 and Solvency II.
  • Experience with statistic software like SAS or R and programming languages like C#, C++, Java, VBA
  • Experienced in managing different stakeholders, teams and projects
  • Experienced in presenting to senior stakeholders and mentoring junior colleagues
