What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Data Analyst II is responsible for ensuring the Data Analyst Team provides WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) stakeholders with actionable analysis on data collection and assessment of MetroAccess Service Delivery practices. The Data Analyst II also performs audits that ensure compliance with WMATA protocols. This position sits in-office Mon-Fri in Hyattsville, MD 8am-5pm eastern.

What you’ll do:
- Identify problematic areas within the data provided, and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
- Analyze and problem solve issues with current and planned systems as they relate to the integration and management of data
- Analyze reports of data duplicates or other errors to provide ongoing appropriate inter-departmental communication and monthly or daily data reports
- Monitor for timely and accurate completion of select data elements
- Monitor reporting systems for issues with data and report executions
- Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
- Acquire and extract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
- Perform data entry, either manually or using scanning technology, when needed or required
- In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
- Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
- Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
- Create and present quality dashboards in Power BI
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports
- Ensure data integrity
- Work with WMATA to maintain Client allocated equipment and systems used for the necessary QA functions
- Maintain MTM systems and databases we use to track data, run reports, etc.

What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on quantitative analytics or experience in a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in quantitative analytics such as: performance measurement, user segmentation, test design, modeling and web analytics
- Experience with MS SQL Server, Power BI or other relational database systems
- Must be advanced in Power BI
- Experience with automated data systems
- MUST Live in the Hyattsville, MD area to be in office Mon-Fri (no relocation provided)
Skills:
- Ability to develop and execute relational database queries and stored procedures
- Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development.
- Understanding of SQL, PowerBI, and Tableau
- Ability to write basic SQL queries to extract data from Oracle databases
- Ability to build dashboards
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of statistics, at least to the degree necessary in order to communicate easily with Statisticians
- Ability to effectively interpret and analyze data
- Must possess the ability to assess potential problems and make sound judgments around issues that may have an adverse effect on the business
- Ability to effectively interpret and analyze data and present results to stakeholders
- High level of emotional intelligence
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with others to achieve defined goals

Minimum Salary: $61,250
Maximum Salary: $65,000
