Job Description
Albemarle Corporation is looking for an Occupational Safety Manager for its Magnolia, AR location. This position reports to the HSE Sr Manager. The Manager is responsible for day-to-day coordination of safety programs and compliance. This role is meant to be a rotational position to allow new ideas and energy to be brought to the safety programs and to allow the individual to develop both managerial skills and have a robust understanding of the site’s safety performance.
Role and Responsibilities

Coordination and administration of day-to-day safety procedures, policies, and protocols
-
Assists, plans, monitors, and implements safety policies in compliance with local, federal (OSHA) and corporate requirements.

Represents the site via interaction with corporate safety teams.
-
Plans and implements training safety work practices, policies, and/or procedures as part of a continuous improvement effort to drive safety excellence.

Champions site communications on safety related topics
-
Maintains a noticeable presence in the field driving safety culture.

Maintains close contact with medical support in the event of an incident.
-
Conducts or ensures involvement with post incident investigations as a facilitator or leader and helps ensure items are tracked to closure.

Responsible Care

Responsible for management and oversite of HSE Trainer and Safety Professionals and others

Monitors, regulates, and adjusts as necessary the safety work order program.

Responsible for ensuring safety and training compliance of 3rd party contractors (i.e.: Brown & Root)

Backup as needed for Safety Professionals

Track past due CAPAs
-
Rotating HSE on-call team

Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions, and provides follow up to ensure compliance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical plant/industry production.
-
Daily experience with Excel, SAP, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.

Capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
-
Capable of developing leadership relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

Technical understanding of chemical processes
Preferred Skills

5 years of relevant experience

Expert knowledge of Chemical Operations.

Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field
