We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a genuine passion for OB/GYN and Women’s Health. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, engaging effectively with both physicians and patients, and will have a deep commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. In the dynamic and evolving field of ultrasound healthcare, staying current through ongoing education is essential, and we’re looking for someone who embraces that challenge with enthusiasm and dedication.
We are committed to ongoing education and professional development. We offer opportunities for caregivers to obtain Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and host monthly meetings where team members can present topics and share their expertise with colleagues. We strongly believe in the value of training and knowledge-sharing, which is why we encourage caregivers to participate in the onboarding and education of new hires, students, residents, and fellows. These experiences foster a collaborative learning environment and support the growth of both new and experienced team members.
A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation, from 8:00am—4:30pm or 11:00am—7:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform high quality ultrasound exams according to the AIUM guidelines within the OB GYN Institute ultrasound department at our hospital and family health center locations.
If working within MFM: perform obstetric ultrasounds on patients to include high risk patients. MFM ultrasound exams include nuchal translucency, anatomy, BPP’s, growth scans, cervical lengths, MCA dopplers, UA dopplers, assisting with amniocentesis, CVS, and other procedures requested by the fetal care team.
If working within GYN/REI: perform gynecologic exams and assist with procedures on patients including TA/TV pelvic ultrasounds, endometriosis studies, SIS and HyCOSy procedures, IVF monitoring’s, transfers and early OB scans.
Accurately complete reports, communicate findings and assist physicians with procedures.
Teach and train sonographers, students, fellows, and residents and attend educational department meetings.
Review patient history prior to exam.
Communicate exam process to patients.
Ensure patient comfort and safety.
Monitor templates/schedule for ultrasound appointments.
Ensure emergent ultrasounds are done in a timely manner.
Complete end of day transmission of images and archive.
Rotate to sites as needed within the Institute.
Assist in new investigative techniques, procedures, and equipment.
Maintain knowledge in the field and CME’s.
RDMS must be maintained in good standing.
Complete at least five patient exams in each of the 9 OB/MFM competencies and at least five patient exams in each of the 9 GYN/REI competencies within six months of hire.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and in good standing
Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must obtain RDMS registry in OB/GYN within one year of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
*Must successfully complete at least five patient exams in each of the 9 OB/MFM competencies and at least five patient exams in each of the 9 GYN/REI competencies within 6-months of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of OBGYN women’s health ultrasound experience
OR three years of ultrasound experience
Maternal Fetal experience

Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking to extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Must be able to travel and get to scheduled locations.
