What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct patient care in clinic, hospital, and community-based settings 
  • Serve as a specialist and consultant for referred patients
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation for patient phone support
  • Rotate inpatient hospital coverage (with hospitalist support when available)
  • Maintain a schedule including:
    • 1 evening shift (until 8 PM) per week
    • 1 Saturday shift (9 AM – 1 PM) every 3–4 weeks
    • 1 overnight call for Trinity Hospital 
  • Ensure compliance with medical standards, confidentiality laws, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • M.D. Degree, or D.O. degree from accredited school of allopathic or osteopathic medicine required
  • Board-certified or Board-eligible in OB/GYN  
  • Current and valid Illinois license as a physician and surgeon
  • Current and valid DEA and IL Controlled Substance
  • Eligible for, or maintenance of, hospital privileges at affiliated hospitals
  • Bilingual ability may or may not be required based on individual department needs.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with patients and other members of the care team.
  • Comfort working in a medical setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
  • Experience in working with a diverse population base preferred. 
  • Ability to appropriately handle confrontation and conflict. 
  • Ability to work independently and to seek consultation as necessary.
  • Ability to follow organization and departmental processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a high stress/fast paced/high work volume environment.

Skills Required
