With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.
The Obstetrics (OB) Coordinator will coordinate and consult with the obstetrics patients through their pregnancy.
- Meets with every new obstetrics patient.
- Completes the medical history intake with the patient and opens the OB flow sheet.
- Ensures OB prenatal paperwork is completed to include NICA, consent to treat, consent to deliver, and financial agreements.
- Triages OB patients.
- Reviews the pregnancy guidebook with the patient.
- Provides general maternity education to patients.
- Handles referrals to maternal fetal medicine (MFM), nutritionist, and/or infusion center if needed.
- Monitors OB blood work and provides results if requested.
- Pulls delivery notes and conducts post-partum calls.
- Provides patient care and education as defined by the unit.
- Contacts non-compliant patients to facilitate follow up.
- Answers patient questions and provides information within the scope of knowledge.
- Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
- Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience within an OBGYN or OB practice/department strongly preferred.
- Excellent customer service.
- Able to communicate medical information clearly.
- Attention to detail.
- Meticulous documentation and follow up.
- Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eClinical Works (eCW).
- Knowledge of medical office protocols, procedures, and processes (universal precautions, risk management, patient information confidentiality, etc.)
- Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
