ResponsibilitiesThe O&M Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the powerplants. He/She will manage the O&M contracts, coordinate with various stakeholders to optimize performance and maximize energy production and revenues. This role involves visits to sites to oversee that operations and maintenance activities are carried out as expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations: Supervise and coordinate daily activities, including monitoring performance metrics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment, including scheduling preventive maintenance and coordinating corrective maintenance activities.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions to optimize energy production and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including equipment suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the O&M budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports about O&M activities, performance metrics, and budgetary matters for management and stakeholders.
- Lessons Learned: Document and share lessons learned from O&M and asset management activities to improve processes, efficiency, and decision-making.
- Health and Safety: Actively cooperate with H&S Mananger in order to Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel, including conducting regular safety audits and training programs.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation, to minimize the environmental impact of solar farm operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; master’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, and monitoring systems is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-disciplined and result-oriented
- Professional working proficiency in English (Italian is a plus)
