Fixed Term - Payroll Administrator (NZ)

Due to an internal movement, we have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator to support our New Zealand Payroll in a 15-month fixed term role.

You'll be a vital part of our NZ Payroll team, supporting payroll operations and helping us deliver reliable, compliant, and timely payroll services to our valued employees right across New Zealand.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Step into our team to provide administrative support to our Payroll Officers, Supervisors and broader payroll team.

You will be assisting with a range of payrolls administrative tasks, including timesheet entry and working with our eTimesheet module, employment agreement and collective interpretation, employee master file maintenance, and other duties as directed.

You will play an important part in helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, working with a team that’s down to earth and very friendly.  The Good Work which makes a real impact when it matters.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Manage accurate payroll data entry and timesheet processing using PayGlobal and our eTimesheet module
  • Interpret and apply employment agreements and collective contracts, maintaining compliance with NZ payroll regulations
  • Maintain employee master data, updating changes in Workday and our K2 payroll platform
  • Resolve payroll queries and provide expert guidance to managers, employees, and HR colleagues
  • Support regional payroll operations and collaborate with payroll officers and supervisors
  • Calculate manual payments, enter payroll transactions, and generate payroll reports as needed
  • Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all payroll task

  • Has 1+ Years Payroll Administrator experience

  • Is happy to work collaboratively alongside others in a large busy team, a team player
  • Has Intermediate to advance use of Excel, e.g. can do vlookups and pivot tables

  • Has a sound understanding and demonstrated knowledge of payroll related legislation e.g. Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, ACC Act
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements
  • PayGlobal Experience

Skills Required

  • 1+ years Payroll Administrator experience
  • Experience using PayGlobal payroll system
  • Experience with eTimesheet modules / timesheet entry
  • Experience updating employee master data in Workday
  • Experience with K2 payroll platform
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables)
  • Sound understanding and demonstrated knowledge of NZ payroll legislation (Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, ACC Act)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements
  • Strong customer service focus and communication skills
  • Ability to calculate manual payments and generate payroll reports
  • Willingness to undergo and pass pre-employment medical and drug screen
