About the role .
Ready to lead from the front and make your mark on New Zealand's Foodservice market? As our New Zealand Field Sales Manager, you'll inspire a national team of Sales Representatives, turn ambitious plans into winning execution and build powerful partnerships with end users and distributors. This is a high-impact opportunity to grow sales, strengthen market share and bring exciting new products to customers across the country.

What you'll be doing
- Lead, coach and develop a national field team, building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, capability and growth.
- Drive commercial performance across street business and end-user customers, using sales data, customer insights and market information to identify opportunities and improve results.
- Turn strategy into field execution, driving key priorities including sales growth, market share, new product launches and customer initiatives.
- Lead regular field visits, ride-alongs and coaching sessions, supported by quarterly evaluations and annual performance reviews.
- Partner with Business Manager, Distributor Manager, Sales, Category and Marketing teams to execute national Foodservice priorities and ensure strong alignment across the customer journey.
- Lead sales meetings, cycle planning and team development initiatives, creating clarity and momentum around commercial priorities.
- Champion CRM discipline, reporting and execution excellence, ensuring strong visibility of team activity, opportunities and agreed actions.
- Recruit and develop Sales Representatives as required, maintaining a strong talent pipeline through mentoring, development and succession-focused leadership.
- Manage field sales operating costs within budget and ensure compliance with McCain policies, processes and Code of Conduct.
- Travel nationally to spend time in the field with team members through field visits, ride-along' s, customer meetings and coaching.
What you'll need to be successful
- Proven experience leading and developing sales or field-based teams, ideally within Foodservice or a customer-focused commercial environment, with a strong understanding of end users and distributors.
- Strong coaching capability, with a track record of building capability and lifting individual and team performance.
- Confidence managing performance and having courageous conversations, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable.
- Strong commercial acumen and an analytical mindset, with the ability to use data and customer insights to identify opportunities, develop growth strategies and translate plans into action.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships and collaborate effectively across the business.
- High energy, resilience and a results-focused mindset, with the ability to create momentum and lead a team through change and competing priorities.
- A strong execution mindset, with the ability to turn strategy into clear priorities and deliver results through a field team.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems, with a disciplined approach to reporting and managing customer and sales activity.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with strong organisation skills and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally across New Zealand.
- A business or relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
About the team .
Reporting to the Head of Foodservice & Retail New Zealand, this role leads a national team of Sales Representatives. The position works closely with the NZ National Distributor Manager Foodservice, the NZ Business Manager Foodservice and other commercial stakeholders to align end-user, distributor and institutional customer strategies across New Zealand.
