Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
The core of this role is the coordination of all subsystems or functional chains to guarantee that all functional, numerical, electrical and physical interfaces are accurate and properly managed.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn your capacity as Nyx Earth Senior System Architect, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day duties will include:
Ensure a consistent spacecraft design by coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams to define and control system and subsystems interfaces, ensuring that all design aspects meet functional, electrical, numerical and physical compatibility.
Act as the systems integration point of contact for interface compatibility, risk identification relating to system coherence, and mitigation strategies, particularly during design and subsystem integration phases.
Coordinate the activities of the functional chain responsibilities (Functional chains refer to interconnected systems or subsystems within a spacecraft, each responsible for specific functions critical to mission objectives over the complete lifetime of the spacecraft)
Oversee the creation and management of interface control documents (ICDs) and interface requirements, collaborating verification and validation engineers responsible for executing system test campaigns and compliance checks.
Maintain and ensure compliance with the spacecraft performance parameters.
Maintain and improve the interface management process supported by our in-house developed MBSE tool.
In the role of Nyx Earth Senior System Architect, you will have the following:
Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or another related field.
10+ years of experience in systems design, analysis, and testing of aerospace or space-related systems, with a focus on functional simulation testing (HIL testing).
Spacecraft systems knowledge.
System mindset with a proven capability of understanding and managing complex systems.
Experience in development project throughout the complete life cycle.
Experience in the development of control algorithms and state machines.
Hands-on hardware experience.
Experience in the development and verification of space hardware.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Strong organizing and prioritization of tasks
A hands-on, Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done
Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
