Emerging Tech is seeking a Data Analyst to play a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making within the NYC Department of Education’s Strategic IT Governance Operations Support Program. The successful candidate will develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and performance visualizations that align with strategic KPIs, enabling leadership and stakeholders to monitor progress and compliance effectively. Ideal candidates possess strong analytical expertise and can translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights for both technical teams and executive decision-makers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and static reports to monitor project performance, funding utilization, compliance, and other critical metrics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the program to define reporting requirements ensuring outputs align with strategic KPIs and governance goals.
- Analyze complex data sets to detect trends, anomalies, and key insights that inform IT governance strategy and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting tools and visualizations.
- Document data sources, analysis methodologies, and reporting processes to support transparency and reproducibility.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize adoption and effective use of reporting tools.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles supporting complex programs.
- Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with public sector clients or large-scale IT governance/strategic initiatives strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on actionable insights.
