NY Signals Manager

STV is seeking a Signals Manager to join our Systems and Security department at our New York City, NY and Philadelphia, PA offices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Signals Engineering team responsible for signal design, integration, and system implementation across multiple transit and rail projects.

• Oversee the development and delivery of signal engineering solutions, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and compliance with client and industry standards.

• Coordinate across departments and disciplines to support seamless systems integration with communications, SCADA, and civil infrastructure.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on signal-related scopes, providing strategic guidance and technical oversight.

• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level signal and systems engineering staff, supporting professional growth and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; PE license preferred.

• 25+ years of experience in signal engineering for rail or transit projects, including team leadership and project delivery.

• Deep understanding of signal system design, operations, and regulatory standards such as AREMA, FRA, and local agency criteria.

• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and collaborate across all phases of project development.

• Strong client-facing communication skills and experience managing stakeholder expectations and technical negotiations.
