Job Overview
The NVH Attributes Lead Engineer will be
responsible for ensuring that the vehicle's Noise, Vibration, and Harshness
(NVH) performance meets the defined targets across all development stages. This
includes close collaboration with External Service Providers (ESPs), internal
engineering teams, and testing departments to validate and optimize NVH
performance for Electric Vehicles (EVs). The role is key to guaranteeing
customer-perceived quality and acoustic comfort aligned with VinFast’s premium
EV positioning.
VinFast is a pioneering electric vehicle (EV)
company committed to delivering sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.
As a leader in the EV industry, VinFast develops world-class electric vehicles
defined by quality, cutting-edge technology, and performance. Our vision is
driven by a team of passionate engineers and professionals striving to shape
the future of mobility.
As a Lead NVH Attributes Engineer, you will play a
central role in developing and validating NVH targets for next-generation EVs.
Your expertise will guide technical decisions in both virtual and physical
environments, ensuring optimal sound and vibration performance while meeting
cost, timing, and regulatory requirements.
Position
Responsibilities
- Act
as the technical lead for NVH attribute development across all phases of
the vehicle program.
- Work
closely with ESPs and internal teams to define and verify NVH performance
targets based on benchmarks, customer requirements, and regulatory
standards.
- Lead
regular technical reviews with cross-functional stakeholders and ESPs to
assess design solutions, correlate CAE and physical test results, and
propose improvements.
- Perform
root cause analysis and develop mitigation strategies for NVH issues
discovered during validation or media/customer events.
- Coordinate
with the Testing and CAE teams to ensure effective data collection,
analysis, and reporting of NVH performance.
- Support
the integration of NVH performance in the context of whole-vehicle
attribute balancing (e.g., trade-offs with weight, cost, thermal, etc.).
- Provide structured reporting and escalation to the
Program Attributes Manager for critical gaps requiring higher-level support
Requirements
Education / Professional
Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or
equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in NVH development, preferably
within Electric Vehicle projects.
- Strong understanding of NVH fundamentals and their specific implications
in EVs (e.g., high-frequency tonal noise, lack of masking effects, road/tire
noise dominance).
- Experience managing NVH trade-offs and integrating solutions into full
vehicle systems.
Skills / Experience:
- Solid experience developing NVH performance targets and test standards
for EVs.
- Capability to interpret objective and subjective NVH results and align
them with customer expectations.
- Hands-on experience in vehicle-level NVH testing (road, lab, acoustic
chambers).
- Strong communication and coordination skills to work across global teams
and with external suppliers.
- Knowledge of global Certification and Homologation requirements related
to acoustic performance is a plus.
- Experience with project management tools and processes for tracking
development progress.
