We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Nursing Unit Manager to lead and manage nursing operations within the assigned unit. The Nursing Unit Manager will be responsible for overseeing patient care delivery, supporting physicians, guiding nursing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage teams while ensuring compassionate, high-quality patient care. This role plays a key part in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans, as well as addressing the current and future medical needs of patients
Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Clinical Oversight – Ensure high-quality patient care by maintaining nursing standards, overseeing care delivery, reviewing patient care plans, coordinating services, and communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Team Leadership & Staff Management – Lead and mentor nursing staff, promote teamwork, guide clinical practices, support professional development, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
- Administrative & Quality Management - Manage staffing and duty roasters, take part in conferences and training programs, and regularly review nursing work to find ways to improve patient care and daily operations.
- Compliance & Continuous Improvement - Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accredition requirements, and internal guidelines. Participate in audits, evaluations, and planning for future nursing and patient care needs within the unit.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a valid nursing license to practice in the state
- 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in nursing or healthcare settings
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead teams while maintaining a patient-centric approach to care
