The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the clinical support of licensed nurses and CNAs, and other ancillary non-licensed clinical employees who provide direct and in-direct care to patients. The nurse supervisor will be clinically proficient in nursing related skills and will have a current CPR card issued through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. 

Essential Functions

  • Serves as liaison between the clinical team, physician/physician extenders, diagnostic agencies and sources of referrals for new patients.
  • Advocates on behalf of the clinical team by supporting and promoting a team environment.
  • Supports and participates in the center's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program. 
  • Reports pertinent clinical personnel issues and patient-care areas of concern to the Director of Nursing. 
  • Supervises and directs licensed and non-licensed nursing employees. 
  • Directs and supervises the delivery of patient care. 
  • Reports any significant change in a patient's condition to other clinical team members.
  • Routinely conduct chart audits. 
  • Participates in clinical rounds with medical providers. 
  • Review physician orders with follow up.
  • Address complaints and follow up in a timely manner. 
  • Participates in the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients. 
  • Provides report for new admissions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

Current RN license in good standing with the VA Department of Health Professions or compact state. 

Two years of Nursing management preferred

Demonstrates excellent clinical, customer service and leadership skills. 

Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification. 

 

Skills Required
