Unit Description: 3G/H is a 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients. The unit also serves as a secondary stroke unit and cares for general cardiac and telemetry patients. Patients are admitted from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from physician offices.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and overall care of patients.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
