Pre-OP Nursing Assistant
Full-Time, First Shift
Surgical Services I Lexington, KY
The Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) Surgery Unit is a critical component of the hospital's surgical services, dedicated to preparing patients for surgical procedures. This unit ensures that patients are physically, emotionally, and administratively ready for their surgery, focusing on safety, efficiency, and comfort. The Pre-Op Unit streamlines the surgical process by coordinating necessary assessments, addressing patient concerns, and optimizing care transitions.
Description Pre-OP Nursing Assistant II:
- At the direction of management and/or nursing personnel, assists the hospital staff/department in the provision of high quality, safe patient care
- Provides basic physical care of the patient.
- Demonstrates safe patient transport with stretcher, wheelchairs, and patient beds.
- Performs tasks and procedures as directed according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Ensures positive customer relations interactions.
- Actively participates in unit activities.
- Perform routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment and care of patients.
- On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holiday picked by rotation.
Requirements Pre-OP Nursing Assistant II:
- High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.
- Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.

Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
