Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR
Full Time I First Shift (0645-1515)
Surgical Services I Lexington, KY
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR:
- At the direction of management and/or nursing personnel, assists the hospital staff/department in the provision of high quality, safe patient care
- Provides basic physical care of the patient.
- Demonstrates safe patient transport with stretcher, wheelchairs, and patient beds.
- Performs tasks and procedures as directed according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique.
- Ensures positive customer relations interactions.
- Actively participates in unit activities.
- Aid in Surgical Procedures and certain basic circulating functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room.
- On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holidays picked by rotation.
Requirements Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR:
- High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.
- Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
