What You Should Know About the Nursing Applications Systems Analyst:
- Typical hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Position will take call.
- This position is based within Jefferson Regional Quality Management Department
Job Summary:
Under the directions of the Manager of Nursing Applications/Quality, the Nursing Applications Systems Analyst is responsible for providing support for the EHR software product(s) and other applications assigned (for external and/or internal customers). This position provides ongoing design, decision, and technical support and guidance to new and existing customers; and performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities include documentation, configuration, analysis, installation, testing, user training and support for assigned software applications as well as assisting with redesigning clinical processes using information technologies.
Nursing Applications Systems Analyst Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program required.
- Certification in Nursing Informatics (NI-BC) is preferred.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Three to Five years in a nursing positing in healthcare
- Minimum of 1-year experience in implementing and supporting software products
- Accuracy and attention to detail is required.
- Excellent communication skills
- A detailed knowledge of computer systems, database methodologies, reporting techniques and medical terminology
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team setting on projects
- Must be able to work efficiently with others and deal with various situations in a professional, competent, courteous manner
- Must be able to deal with multiple deadlines
- Preferred Requirements:
- Electronic Health Record documentation experience preferred.
- Proficiency in planning, project management, configuration, analytical, organization, and teaching skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a nursing applications analyst or working in a quality/education department
- Experience with quality and regulatory standards for a hospital
- Strong understanding of quality improvement methodologies
- Proficient in data analytics tools
- Strong project management skills
