About the role:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and experienced clinician to join our management team at Cairns Private Hospital! 

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will be at the forefront of clinical leadership, guiding workforce planning and operational strategies within our Tea Tree Unit. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence. You will lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, manage daily operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for both staff and patients. You will coordinate the admissions and discharge processes of the department, and the daily management of nursing staff and other human resources.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset, with recent management or leadership experience in a clinical area along with the following: 

 

  • Proven leadership skills in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

Key Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications and registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of (3) years’ post graduate experience.
  • Proven knowledge as a Senior nurse or Manager in a similar department or ward will be highly regarded.
  • Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management.
