Pay Scale:
CMA: $18-$20/hr.
LPN: $24/hr.- $26/hr.
RN: $26.44- $30/hr. 

Summary:

Provides nursing services to the medical unit. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides medication evaluation, medication checks, calls in prescriptions, obtains samples, sometimes may provide individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities
  • Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team
  • Participates in peer review process for therapists
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Special Attributes:  Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  May provide supervision as directed.

Education and/or Experience:
RN:
Graduation from a four-year state accredited school of nursing and one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LPN: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and prefer one year of experience in nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CMA: Minimum of High School Degree and obtained certification from the Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). One year related experience and/or training preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills Required

  • RN: Graduation from a four-year accredited school of nursing
  • RN: One year of psychiatric nursing experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • LPN: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • LPN: One year of nursing experience
  • CMA: High school diploma
  • CMA: Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CMA: One year related experience and/or training
  • Strong psychosocial and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, clients, and families
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize assignments
