ChristianaCare Health System is currently seeking a Generalist Certified Nurse Midwife to work full-time inpatient at the Newark, DE Campus and Outpatient at the Union Campus in Maryland. 

The OBGYN Generalist Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based midwifery care to obstetric and gynecologic patients in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. The CNM provides care in both the inpatient hospital setting and the outpatient women’s health practice setting. As an inpatient member of the Labor and Delivery team the CNM provides care across the antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum periods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, management of labor and delivery, obstetric and gynecologic (OBGYN) triage, procedures, patient education, consultation, admission and discharge coordination, and care transitions.

The CNM functions as a member of the outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care teams and participates in preventive, routine, and problem-based management of patients across the reproductive lifespan. Responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, procedures, patient education, care coordination, referral, and follow-up management. The CNM provides care within the scope of midwifery practice and collaborates with or escalates care to obstetric physicians when indicated by patient condition, risk factors, or clinical circumstances. The CNM will work in an academic setting with a variety of learners such as Resident Physicians, Medical Students, and Advanced Practice Clinician Students.

Position Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNM program and board certification as a CNM.

  • License or license eligible as a CNM in the State of Delaware and Maryland

  • Minimum of two years’ experience, required.

  • Prescriptive Authority, DEA registration, BLS Required

Annual Compensation Range $121,980.00 - $151,988.00This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
