Job Summary
The Nurse Manager – OR / Endoscopy is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating the daily operations and staffing of nursing and support staff within the surgical and endoscopy setting to ensure high-quality patient care. This role may also provide direct patient care as needed and plays a key leadership role in fostering a positive and safe care environment.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, plan, and coordinate unit operations to support high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement staffing plans to ensure appropriate coverage
- Lead staff onboarding, training, and ongoing education initiatives
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to nursing staff
- Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative environment for patients, visitors, and staff
- Coordinate activities with other hospital departments to support unit operations
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 2–3 years of nursing experience
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- 1–2 years of nursing leadership experience
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to clinical excellence and quality patient care
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of age-specific patient care needs
